Robert Starkey, owner of Havasu Entertainment - took to the field, mic in hand, conducting live on-spot
interviews and calling the action as it happened.  Many vendors got a chance in the spotlight, to hightlight
their business and thank the participants for coming out and visiting their booths.

Although uncooperative winds cancelled the first scheduled flight, that did not stop thousands of people from attending the first-ever Havasu Island Balloon Festival & Fair on Friday — much to the delight of all the event volunteers. Event organizer Constant Stoepler said he was “overwhelmed” by the turnout, which create traffic challenges for city officials. The wind did cooperate Saturday morning, however, as several balloons took to the skies. The festivities continue throughout the weekend at Nautical Beachfront Resort.

I want to wish a Happy 60th Birthday to Penny, a customer of ours, whom held their event at the Elks Lodge.  The venue was the perfect setting for her event.  We came in red uplighting and lite up the walls to help accent her color scheme.

This was the first event in which we got to use the new projector. Pennys' daughter created a heartfelt montage, to which I found and played appropriate music through the sound system.  A lot of laughs, a lot of tears, but all joy!

Another highlight of the event, was the recordings that I was able to take in from Pennys Mother, Brother, and Sister, which I played back just after dinner.  This is a unique touch that I offer for my events which you will likely not find many DJs providing.

This evening was filled with exciting activities from the minute the guests helped shout out "Williams" with me during the grand introduction, through the Key Gag, to the numerous "thank you" and "great job" praise I received from the guests at the end of the night.

Havasu Entertainment sponsored Relay for Life 2010

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

• Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
• Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
• Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.

The full transition is expected to be completed by January 1st of 2010, however we are already accepting and booking events.
